The Home Energy Conservation Act 1995 (Commencement No. 2) (England) Order 1995

The Secretary of State for the Environment, as respects England, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 9(2) and (3) of the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order—

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995 (Commencement No. 2) (England) Order 1995.

Commencement

2.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2), the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995 shall come into force on 1st April 1996.

(2) Sections 3(1) and 4(1) and (2) of that Act shall come into force on 15th January 1996.

Application

3.  This Order shall apply in relation only to energy conservation authorities whose areas are in England.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
Article 2 of this Order brings into force in England the following provisions of the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995—

on 15th January 1996, sections 3(1) and 4(1)-(2), and

on 1st April 1996, the remainder of the Act.

As regards England, there remain no further provisions of the Act to be brought into force.
The following provisions of the Act are brought into force by commencement order made before the date of this Order:
