The Animal Health Orders (Divisional Veterinary Manager Amendment) Order 1995

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 1, 15(4) and 83(2) of the Animal Health Act 1981(1), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, for the purposes of Schedule 1, Part I (except for paragraph 9) and Schedule 2 of the following Order;
the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in relation to England, the Secretary of State for Scotland in relation to Scotland, and the Secretary of State for Wales in relation to Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 1, 15(4) and 83(2) of the Animal Health Act 1981, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, for the purposes of Schedule 1, Part I, paragraph 9 of the following Order;
the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary State for Wales, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 1, 15(4) and 83(2) of the Animal Health Act 1981, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, for the purposes of Schedule 1, Part II of the following Order; and
the Secretary of State for Scotland in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 1, 15(4) and 83(2) of the Animal Health Act 1981, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, for the purposes of Schedule 1, Part III of the following Order,

hereby make the following Order:—

Title and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Animal Health Orders (Divisional Veterinary Manager Amendment) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 1st December 1995.

Interpretation

2.  Except where the context otherwise requires, any reference in this Order to a numbered article, Schedule or Part of a Schedule is a reference to the article, Schedule or Part bearing that number in this Order.

Amendments relating to the “Divisional Veterinary Manager”

3.  In the Orders specified in columns 1 and 2 of Parts I, II and III of Schedule 1, in the provisions specified in column 3 in each of those Parts, for the words:—

(a)“Divisional Veterinary Officer”; and

(b)in the case of paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 1, “divisional veterinary officer”,

in each place where they occur there shall be substituted the words “Divisional Veterinary Manager”.

4.  In the Orders specified in columns 1 and 2 of Schedule 2, in the provisions specified in column 3, for the words “Divisional Veterinary Inspector” or “divisional veterinary inspector” in each place where they occur there shall be substituted the words “Divisional Veterinary Manager”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Orders specified in the Schedules so as to replace the terms “Divisional Veterinary Officer”, or “Divisional Veterinary Inspector” with the term “Divisional Veterinary Manager” (articles 3 and 4) to reflect changes in the organisation of the Veterinary Field Service.
