The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 59(6)(a) of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994(1) hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Sale of Solid Fuel Byelaws (Exemption from Repeal) (Scotland) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 31st December 1999.

(2) In this Order “the 1994 Act” means the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994.

Provisions

2.  The byelaws set out in the Schedule to this Order are hereby exempted for the purposes of section 59(6)(a) of the 1994 Act and, accordingly, shall not cease to have effect on 31st December 1999.

The Fife Regional Council (Sale of Solid Fuel) Byelaws 1988;

The Highland Regional Council Byelaws relating to the Sale of Solid Fuel 1993.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order exempts the byelaws listed in the Schedule, which relate to matters which are reserved matters for the purposes of the Scotland Act 1998, from ceasing to have effect on 31st December 1999 under the provisions of section 59(6)(a) of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994.
