The Road Traffic (Special Parking Areas) (The London Borough of Wandsworth) (Amendment) Order 1998

Whereas the council of the London borough of Wandsworth has applied to the Secretary of State for an Order to be made under section 76 of the Road Traffic Act 1991(1) and the Secretary of State has consulted the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with section 76(2) of that Act:

NOW, the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 76(1) and section 77(6) of Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Special Parking Areas) (The London Borough of Wandsworth) (Amendment) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 6th April 1998.

Amendment of the Road Traffic (Special Parking Areas) (The London Borough of Wandsworth) Order 1993

2.  The amendments to the Schedule to the Road Traffic (Special Parking Areas) (The London Borough of Wandsworth) Order 1993(2) set out in the Schedule to this Order shall have effect.

Article 2

SCHEDULEAMENDMENTS TO THE SCHEDULE TO THE ROAD TRAFFIC(SPECIAL PARKING AREAS) (THE LONDON BOROUGH OFWANDSWORTH) ORDER 1993

1.  For paragraph 31 there shall be substituted—

“31.  Chivalry Road between its junction with Battersea Rise (A3) and the northern boundary wall of No. 1 Chivalry Road.”

2.  For paragraph 38 there shall be substituted—

“38.  Elsynge Road between a point 8m southwest of the south western flank wall of No. 54 Elsynge Road and its junction with Marcilly Road.”

3.  For paragraph 48 there shall be substituted—

“48.  Herndon Road between its junction with East Hill (A3) and a point 3m north west of the north western boundary wall of 1 Herndon Road.”

4.  For paragraph 52(b) there shall be substituted—

“(b)(south side) between its junction with Battersea Rise (A3) and a point 3m north west of the common boundary of 141 and 143 Lavender Sweep.”

5.  For paragraph 57 there shall be substituted—

“57.  Lindore Road between a point 2m south of the southern rear wall of No. 47 Battersea Rise and its junction with Battersea Rise.”

6.  For paragraph 60 there shall be substituted—

“60.  Marjorie Grove—

(a)(west side) between its junction with Clapham Common North Side (A3) and a point 22m north of the northern kerbline of Clapham Common North Side;

(b)(east side) between its junction with Clapham Common North Side (A3) and a point 22m north of the northern kerbline of Clapham Common North Side.”

7.  For paragraph 62(b) there shall be substituted—

“(b)(south west side) between its junction with Huguenot Place and a point 8m northwest of the north western flank wall of 2 Melody Road.”

8.  For paragraph 73 there shall be substituted—

“73.  Spanish Road—

(a)(north) between its junction with East Hill (A3) and a point 17m north of the northern boundary wall of 1 Spanish Road;

(b)(south)

(i)(south west side) between a point 15m south east of the south eastern flank wall of No. 5 Spanish Road and its junction with Wandsworth Common North Side;

(ii)(north east side) between a point 17m south east of the south eastern flank wall of No. 5 Spanish Road and its junction with Wandsworth Common North Side.”

9.  For paragraph 74 there shall be substituted—

“74.  Spencer Park—

(a)(west arm) between its junction with Wandsworth Common North Side (A3) and a point opposite the northern front wall of No. 51 Wandsworth Common North Side;

(b)(east arm) between its junction with Wandsworth Common North Side (A3) and a point 24m south east of the southern kerbline of Wandsworth Common North Side;

(c)(south eastern arm) between its junction with Wandsworth Common North Side (A3) and Battersea Rise (A3) and an imaginary line drawn on the north western side 60m south west of the south eastern kerbline of Wandsworth Common North side and a point opposite.”

10.  The following paragraph shall be inserted after paragraph 255—

“255A.  Austin Street between its junction with Battersea High (A3205) and a point 5m south east of the south eastern kerbline of Battersea Park Road.”

11.  For paragraph 257 there shall be substituted—

“257.  Battersea High Street between its junction with York Road (A3205) and Battersea Park Road (A3205) and a point opposite the common boundary of 179 and 181/183 Battersea High Street.”

12.  For paragraph 265 there shall be substituted—

“265.  Cringle Street—

(a)(north side) between its junction with Nine Elms Lane (A3205) and a point 20m west of the north western kerbline of Nine Elms Lane;

(b)(south side) between its junction with Nine Elms Lane (A3205) and a point 15m west of the north western kerbline of Nine Elms Lane.”

13.  For paragraph 277 there shall be substituted—

“277.  Inworth Street between its junction with York Road (A3205) and a point 4m south of the common boundary of 2a and 2 Inworth Street.”

14.  For paragraph 280 there shall be substituted—

“280.  Lockington Road between its junction with York Road (A3205) and a point 20m south east of the south eastern kerbline of Battersea Park Road.”

15.  For paragraph 288 there shall be substituted—

“288.  Plough Road between its junction with York Road (A3205) and a point 30m south east of the north western flank wall of 1 to 24 Wheeler Court.”

16.  For paragraph 289 there shall be substituted—

“289.  Ponton Road between its junction with Nine Elms Lane (A3205) and an imaginary straight line drawn between a point on the east side 56m south of the south eastern kerbline of Nine Elms Lane and a point opposite.”

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Schedule to the Road Traffic (Special Parking Areas) (The London Borough of Wandsworth) Order 1993 which contains particulars of the roads in that borough excluded from the special parking area designated by that Order.
