Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)
These Regulations revoke and replace the Northern Ireland Disability Council Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996. These Regulations prescribe the circumstances in which a member of the Northern Ireland Disability Council established by section 50 of, as modified by Schedule 8 to, the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 may be removed from office by the Department of Health and Social Services (regulation 2). They also make provision for the expenses incurred by the Council to be paid by the Department of Health and Social Services with the approval of the Department of Finance and Personnel (regulation 3).
