ROAD TRAFFIC (TAXI-CAB) (NEW PROVIDENCE ZONE FARES) REGULATIONS

(SECTION 72) [Commencement 12th November, 1996]

1. These regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Taxi-Cab) (New Providence Zone Fares) Regulations.

2. (1) Notwithstanding the Taxi-Cab Maximum Fares Regulations, the maximum fares for taxi-cabs in respect of the transportation of not more than two passengers in the island of New Providence, within the zones described in the First Schedule, shall be as set out in the Second Schedule.

(2) The maximum fare for the transportation of more than two passengers within the zones described in the First Schedule shall be three dollars for each additional passenger.

(3) No fare shall be payable in respect of the transportation of any child under the age of three years if that child is accompanied by a passenger in respect of whom a fare is payable.

FIRST SCHEDULE ZONE 1

LYNDEN PINDLING INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT All that part of New Providence starting at the unnamed road

situated in front of the Domestic Flight Section of the Lynden Pindling International Airport Terminal Building, thence northwestward along the unnamed road to the Exit road leading from Lynden Pindling International Airport Terminal Building, thence northeastward and northward to John F. Kennedy Drive, thence eastward along John F. Kennedy Drive to Coral Harbour Road, thence southward along Coral Harbour Road to the Phoenex Aviation Limited Building, thence continuing from that Building along an imaginary line northward and northwestward to the point of commencement.

ZONE 1A MOUNT PLEASANT

All that part of New Providence starting at the junction of West Bay Street and Wilson Street to an imaginary point at the junction of the unnamed road and Wilson Street, thence eastward along the unnamed road to a point, thence northward along an imaginary line to a point, thence west along an imaginary line to a point on West Bay Street, thence southwest along West Bay Street to the point of commencement.

ZONE 2 LYFORD CAY

All that part of New Providence starting at the Entrance Gate to Lyford Cay situated on the east side of Lyford Cay, thence southward and westward along Edgewater Drive to E. P. Taylor Drive, thence northward and eastward along E. P. Taylor Drive to the entrance of Lyford Cay Club, thence eastward from the entrance of Lyford Cay Club along Green Bay Drive and southward along Green Bay Drive to the point of commencement.

ZONE 3 SOUTH OCEAN

All that part of New Providence starting at a point where South Ocean Boulevard meets South West Road, thence westward along South West Road to Western Road, thence northward along Western Road to South Ocean Boulevard, thence southward along South Ocean Boulevard to the point of commencement.

ZONE 4 CABLE BEACH

Starting at the round-about at Prospect Road and Bay Street, thence westward along Bay Street on the southern side of the dual carriageway to the unnamed road east of the Super Value Plaza, thence northward across Bay Street to a point where the continuation

All that part of New Providence starting at a point at the high water mark of the sea on the northern coast of New Providence where the continuation of West Street in an imaginary line meets the high water mark of the sea, thence eastward along the northern coast of New Providence to a point where the continuation of Victoria Avenue in an imaginary line meets the high water mark of the sea, thence southward along Victoria Avenue to Shirley Street, thence westward along Shirley Street to Princess Street, thence westward on Princess Street to Duke Street, thence westward along Duke Street to Baillou Hill Road, thence westward across Baillou Hill Road to West Hill Street, thence westward along West Hill Street to West Street, thence northward along West Street to the point of commencement.

ZONE 6 PARADISE ISLAND

All that part of Paradise Island starting at Paradise Island Bridge, thence westward along Paradise Drive to Casuarina Drive, thence northward along Casuarina Drive to a point where the continuation of Casuarina Drive in an imaginary line meets the high water mark of the sea, thence eastward along the coast to a point where the continuation of Ocean Ridge Drive in an imaginary line meets the high water mark of the sea, thence southward along Ocean Ridge Drive to a point where the continuation of Ocean Ridge Drive in an imaginary line meets the high water mark of the sea, thence westward along the coast to the point of commence- ment.

ZONE 7 Deleted.

ZONE 8 MONTAGU SHORES

All that part of New Providence starting at a point at the high water mark of the sea on the northern coast of New Providence where the continuation of Fowler Street in an imaginary line meets the high water mark of the sea, thence eastward along the northern coast of New Providence, thence southward along the coast of New Providence to a point where the continuation of Shirley Street in an imaginary line meets the high water mark of the sea, thence

ZONE 9

PRINCE GEORGE DOCK Starting at a point in front of the Port Administration Building,

thence northward along the dual carriageway to the most northern pier, thence westward along the most northern pier to the end of that pier, thence southward from the end of that pier in an imaginary line to a point where the imaginary line meets Woodes Rogers Walk, thence eastward along Woodes Rogers Walk to the point of commencement.

ZONE 10 CORAL HARBOUR

All that part of New Providence starting at Coral Harbour round-about travelling westward along Adelaide Road to the junction of Adelaide Road and Coral Heights Avenue, thence southeast along Coral Heights Avenue to the most southern point, thence south from the most southern point along an imaginary line to a point at Ranfurly Drive, thence east along Ranfurly Drive to Coral Harbour Drive, thence southeast along Coral Harbour Drive, thence north along Purser Road to an imaginary point on Carmichael Road, thence west along Carmichael Road to the point of commencement.

ZONE 11 ENGLERSTON

All that part of New Providence starting at the junction of Robinson Road and East Street, thence travelling north along East Street to Wulff Road, thence east along Wulff Road to Claridge Road, thence south along Claridge Road to Robinson Road, thence west along Robinson Road to the point of commencement.
