Government Act (Chapter 37)

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (TOWN AREAS AND TOWN COMMITTEE MEMBERS) ORDER

(SECTIONS 5(1) and 6(3)) [Commencement 18th July, 2008]

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Town Areas and Town Committee Members) Order.

2. For the purposes of the Local Government Act, the Local Government districts specified in the first column of the Schedule to this Order, in relation to the respective constituencies and polling divisions specified in the second column of that Schedule, are divided into the town areas respectively set out in the third column of that Schedule in relation to those districts.

3. The population of a polling division, or of more than one polling division, of a town area specified in the third column of the Schedule to this Order, comprising such settlements as may be specified in the fourth column of that Schedule, shall elect to the town committee for the town area, the respective number of town committee members specified in the fifth column of that Schedule in relation to that town area.
