MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 149

REQUIRING MEMBERS OF ALL POLICE AGENCIES TO UNDERGO THE PRESCRIBED PHYSICAL EXAMINATION.

Republic Act No. 4864, otherwise known as the Police Act of 1966, requires, among other qualifications for one’s appointment to a local police agency, a sound mind and body.

In pursuance of this legal, provision, it is hereby directed that all members or police agencies who have not as yet undergone the prescribed physical examination required to do so, the same to include neuropsychiatric examination, in the government hospital or medical institution nearest to the police agency concerned.

The Police Commission is hereby authorized to issue such implementing details may be necessary to carry out the intents and purposes of this Memorandum Circular.

Additionally, attention is hereby invited to the fourth paragraph of Section 21, of the aforementioned Act, for strict compliance in the cases contemplated in the said provision.
