MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 164

RECONSTITUTING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE NEDA BOARD BY INCLUDING THE SECRETARIES OF HEALTH, FOREIGN AFFAIRS, AND AGRARIAN REFORM AS MEMBERS THEREOF.

WHEREAS, Section 4 of Executive Order No. 230 dated July 22, 1987, reorganizing the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), authorizes the President of the Philippines to revise the membership of the NEDA Board whenever the same is deemed necessary for the effective performance of the Board’s functions;

WHEREAS, at its first meeting held on August 18, 1987, the NEDA Board decided to include in its membership the Secretary of Health to represent the health and social sectors, and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs in view of the involvement of the Department of Foreign Affairs in foreign economic and technical assistance matters;

WHEREAS, the NEDA Board has likewise decided at its meeting on February 10, 1988 to further expand its membership by including therein the Secretary of Agrarian Reform considering that agrarian reform is a major trust of the present government.

IN VIEW THEREOF and in order to formulate the above mentioned decisions of the NEDA Board, the membership of the said Board is hereby reconstituted by including the Secretaries of Health, Foreign Affairs, and Agrarian Reform, as members thereof.

This Memorandum Order shall take effect immediately.
