MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 155

ENCOURAGING ALL LAWYERS IN NEGROS ORIENTAL AND NEGROS OCCIDENTAL GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE SECTORS TO ATTEND THE IBP-FIDA GENERAL LAW PRACTICE INSTITUTE

WHEREAS, the UP Institute of Judicial Administration in cooperation with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) and Federacion Internacional de Abogadas (FIDA) Negros Oriental Chapters will hold a General Law Practice Institute for lawyers both in the government and the private sectors at the Joshua 1 and 2 Functions Rooms, Bethel Guest House, Dumaguete City on February 6-7, 1997;

WHEREAS, the said General Law Practice Institute will help update the lawyers on recent developments in evidence, pre-trial techniques, remedial law, labor law and BP 22, as part of the continuing legal education program in the country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

SECTION 1. All heads of departments, bureaus, offices or agencies, as well as local government units, with offices in Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental, are hereby enjoined to allow their Legal Officers to participate in the General Law Practice Institute from 6-7 February 1997, on official time, provided that their attendance will not prejudice the regular delivery of service of the agency concerned.

SEC. 2. All Legal Officers who will participate in the General Law Practice Institute shall submit to their respective agency heads, a complete report on their attendance in said activity.

SEC. 3. This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 5th day of February in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-Seven.
