PROCLAMATION NO. 556

DECLARING TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2004, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY

WHEREAS, Republic Act. No. 8973 dated November 7, 2000, which provides for the creation of the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay from the Province of Zamboanga del Sur was ratified on February 24, 2001;

WHEREAS, Tuesday, February 24, 2004, marks the 3rd Charter Day anniversary of the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay be given full opportunity to celebrate this milestone in their province’s history with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALBERTO G. ROMULO, Executive Secretary, by order of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Tuesday, February 24, 2004, as special (non-working) day in the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay in commemoration of the “Araw ng Zamboanga Sibugay”.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 23rd day of February, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Four.
