PROCLAMATION NO. 1103

DECLARING TUESDAY, 18 AUGUST 2015, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF NAGA

WHEREAS, the late Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse M. Robredo served with utmost dedication as Mayor of Naga City from 1988 to 1998 and from 2001 to 2010;

WHEREAS, his outstanding performance as Mayor of Naga earned him numerous awards such as the Magsaysay Award for Government Service in 2000, the first Filipino Mayor to be conferred such distinction;

WHEREAS, on 18 August 2012 the nation lost one of its great leaders and public servants when Secretary Jesse M. Robredo died in a tragic plane accident;

WHEREAS, Secretary/Mayor Robredo is considered as one of the local heroes of Naga City; and

WHEREAS, his many virtues as a public servant have permanently earned for him the gratitude of Naga City and the entire country.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA, JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of his Excellency BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Tuesday, 18 August 2015, as a special (non-working) day in the City of Naga, in commemoration of the death of its beloved Mayor Jesse M. Robredo.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
