The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, after having heard the opinions of Vivian REDING, Member of the European Commission, and representatives of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, the Seimas committees as well as the majority and minority of the Seimas, concerning the Commission Legislative and Work Program 2006, has d e c i d e d :

Article 1.

To approve the conclusion of the Committee on European Affairs and the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Seimas regarding the priorities of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania set forth on the basis of the Commission Legislative and Work Program 2006 and to forward it to the Government of the Republic of Lithuania in compliance with the provisions of Article 180⁽⁴⁾ of the Statute of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.

Article 2.

To recommend that all institutions responsible for preparing and coordinating the positions of the Republic of Lithuania in respect of proposals relating to the adoption of EU legal acts as well as to other EU documents, including the committees, commissions and parliamentary groups of the Seimas, should actively cooperate for the purpose of ensuring an appropriate representation of Lithuania’s interests in EU institutions and enhancing EU solidarity and cohesion.
