Enzootic Bovine Leucosis Disease (Jersey) Order 1984

THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE, in pursuance of Articles 1, 8 and 42 of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956,[1] orders as follows –

1      Extension of definition of “disease”

For the purposes of Article 8 of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956[2] (hereinafter referred to as the “Law”), the definition of “disease” in Article 1(3) of the Law is extended so as to include enzootic bovine leucosis disease.

2      Power to slaughter

Article 8 of the Law shall apply to enzootic bovine leucosis disease.

3      Application of existing enactments to enzootic bovine leucosis disease

The Foot-and-Mouth Disease (Jersey) Order 1958[3] shall apply to enzootic bovine leucosis disease as it applies to foot-and-mouth disease, and as if references therein to foot-and-mouth disease were references to enzootic bovine leucosis disease, and any forms, notices or other documents for use under that Order as applied by this Order shall be subject to the necessary modifications and adaptations.

4      Citation

This Order may be cited as the Enzootic Bovine Leucosis Disease (Jersey) Order 1984.
