Ordinance for Enforcement of the Forest Pest Control Act
Pursuant to the Act on Exterminating and Preventing Weevils and Other Similar Borers, and Other Destructive Forest Pests and Diseases (Act No. 53 of 1950), Ordinance for Enforcement of the Act on Exterminating and Preventing Weevils and Other Similar Borers, and Other Destructive Forest Pests and Diseases is established as follows.
(Standards for Crushing of Trees)
Article 1 The standards provided by Ordinance of Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Article 2, paragraph (6) of the Forest Pest Control Act (hereinafter referred to as the "Act") are to be the crushing of trees to be carried out in such a way that the thickness of a wood chip after crushing is six millimeters or less (in case of crushing by a wood chipper, 15 millimeters or less).
(Manner of Announcement)
Article 1-2 Announcement under the provisions of Article 3, paragraph (5) of the Act must be made in the same manner as the promulgation of Ministerial Ordinances, and announcement under the provisions of Article 3, paragraph (5) as applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to Article 5, paragraph (4) of the Act must be made in the same manner as the promulgation of Prefectural Ordinances.
(Public Notice in Lieu of Delivery of Written Order)
Article 2 Public notice under the provisions of Article 3, paragraph (10) of the Act (including cases where applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to Article 5, paragraph (4) of the Act) must display the contents of written orders which are to be delivered to the posting area in the office of municipalities or special wards to which the area in Article 3, paragraph (5), item (i) of the Act belongs.

Article 3 The card under the provisions of Article 6, paragraph (2) of the Act is according to the Appended Form.
(Cases Where There Are Risks That Damages Would Expand)
Article 3-2 Cases provided by Ordinance of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Article 7-5, paragraph (3) of the Act are as follows:
(i) where the area of said Forest with Highly Publically Beneficial Functionality or a Forest Which Stops the Further Speed of Damages is adjacent to the area of another prefecture and said other prefectures has not incurred any damage; and
(ii) where a prefecture having the areas of the order under the provisions of paragraph (2) or (3) of Article 3 of the Act (limited to those made in said year or the previous year) intends to designate or change the areas of Forests with Highly Publically Beneficial Functionality and Forests Which Stop the Further Speed of Damages.
(Contents of Notification)
Article 4 The notification in Article 12 of the Act is to be made by notifying the following matters in writing or orally:
(i) Areas with an outbreak of forest pests, etc. and the status of damage;
(ii) Type of forest pests, etc.; and
(iii) Other necessary matters.
Supplementary Provisions
This Ministerial Ordinance comes into effect as from the date of enforcement of the Act on Exterminating and Preventing Weevils and Other Similar Borers, and Other Destructive Forest Pests and Diseases.

This Ministerial Ordinance comes into effect as from the date of promulgation.

(Effective Date)
Article 1 This Ministerial Ordinance comes into effect as from the date of enforcement (January 6, 2001) of the Act Revising a Part of the Cabinet Act (Act No.88 of 1999).

(Effective Date)
Article 1 This Ministerial Ordinance comes into effect as from the date of promulgation.
(Transitional Measure)
Article 2 (1) Documents according to the Appended Form of Ordinance for Enforcement of the Forest Pest Control Act used prior to revisions made by this Ministerial Ordinance (referred to as the "Previous Format" in the next paragraph) existing at the time of the enforcement of this Ministerial Ordinance are deemed to be according to Appended Form of Ordinance for Enforcement of the Forest Pest Control Act as revised by this Ministerial Ordinance.
(2) Forms that were prepared according to the Previous Format existing at the time of the enforcement of this Ministerial Ordinance may be used after the enforcement of this Ministerial Ordinance for the time being by rearranging said forms.

This Ministerial Ordinance comes into effect as from the date of enforcement (August 2, 2011) of Article 22 of the Act on the Revision of Related Acts to Promote Reform for Increasing Independence and Autonomy of Local Communities.
