1. These Regulations may be cited as the Agricultural Marketing
Regulations, 1945.

2. For the purposes of these Regulations “Registrar” means the
Marketing Administrator.

3. The Registrar shall keep a register of producers of specified
articles in the form set forth as Form 1 in the Schedule. Form 1.

4. Every producer of an article which has been declared by the
Minister to be a specified article shall as soon as may be practicable after
the date of such declaration make application to the Registrar in the
form set forth as Form 2 in the Schedule to be registered as a producer ~ - 2 .
of such specified article.

5. Every applicant for registration shall in his appl‘ication specify-
(1) the quantity of the specified article produced by him during the

twelve months immediately preceding the date on which such
article was declared to be specified;

(2) the price for which he sold such specified article during the
period of twelve months aforesaid; and

(3) the channels through which he sold such specified artick during
the said period of twehe months.

6.41) Where the Registrar is not satisfied with the information given
in any application he shall by notice in writing require the applicant to
furnish him with such further and better particulars concerning the
matter required to be set out in the application as he may require. Every
such notice may be posted to the applicant to the address stated in the
application.

(2) On the receipt of any such notice the applicant shall forthwith
supply the Registrar with all such further and better particulars as are
within the power of the applicant to supply.

7. The register shall, in respect of each specified article, come into
force on a date five months after the date upon which any such article
has been declared by the Minister to be a specified article and as from
the date on which the register comes into force every producer of such
article shall be required to be registered as a producer thereof.

8. Whehever the Registrar is satisfied that a person has by death or by
reason of his ceasing to possess any interest in the lands on which a
specified article is produced ceased to be a producer of a specified article
he shall cause such person’s name to be deleted from the register.

9. Where a registered producer has by declaration satisfied the Regis-
trar that he has for the past two years ceased to produce the article in
respect of which he is registered, then the Registrar shall delete the name
of such registered producer from the register in respect of such article.

10. Every person who acquires, whether by purchase, transmission,
descent or by any other means whatsoever, any interest in land in respect
of which his immediate predecessor in title was a registered producer
shall within two months of the date on which he acquired such interest
make application to the Registrar in the form set forth as Form 3 in the
Schedule to be registered as a producer in place of his predecessor in
title and the Registrar shall on being satisfied of the change in the in-
terest in the land amend the register accordingly.

11. Whenever the Registrar is satisfied that anything in the register
relating to any registered producer or to any of the matters referred to in
paragraph (c) of subsection 2 of section 4 of the Act is incorrectly stated
therein, he may rectify such entry in the register.

12. No one shall be entitled to inspect or to search the register except
by permission of the Registrar, which permission shall be in the dis-
cretion of the Registrar to grant or to withhold.

13. Any person who contravenes or fails to comply with any of the
provisions of these Regulations shall be guilty of an offence against these
Regulations and shall be liable on summary conviction before a Resident
Magistrate to a fine not exceeding fifty dollars or to imprisonment with
hard labour for any term not exceeding three months.
