EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)
The Regulations amend the European Communities (Two and Three Wheel Motor Vehicle Entry into Service) Regulations 2005 ( S.I. No. 412 of 2005 ), which gave effect to Directive 2002/24/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 March 2002 (the Framework Directive) and to each of the separate Directives that individually regulate many components, systems and separate technical units, in so far as those Directives relate to the registration and entry into service of two or three wheel motor vehicles. These Regulations amend the definition of “Council Directive” in the Regulations of 2005 in order to take account of a number of amending regulatory acts, the most recent being Council Directive 2013/15/EU on the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union.
These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Two and Three Wheel Motor Vehicle Entry into Service) (Amendment) Regulations 2013.
