ALBERTA GET OUTDOORS WEEKEND ACT ALBERTA GET OUTDOORS WEEKEND ACT
Chapter A‑19.2
Preamble
WHEREAS there are significant health and lifestyle benefits associated with active living and outdoor activity;
WHEREAS the recognition of the importance of outdoor recreation will have a lasting effect on the health and well-being of the people of Alberta; and
WHEREAS the Government of Alberta is committed to the mental, physical and environmental benefits of outdoor recreation and would like to encourage Albertans to get outdoors through the designation of a special weekend each year;
THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows:
Alberta Get Outdoors Weekend
1 In recognition of the importance of outdoor recreation to the people of Alberta, the second weekend of April in each year shall be known as “Alberta Get Outdoors Weekend”.
