Amending Reg. 664 of R.R.O. 1990

(AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE)

1. Section 14.1 of Regulation 664 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is amended by adding the following subsection:

(3) Insurers shall use the following element in their risk classification systems in classifying risks for the Personal Vehicles — Private Passenger Automobiles category of automobile insurance:

1. For contracts issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2016, a discount in the rate of insurance in respect of an automobile that is equipped with winter tires.

2. Paragraph 3 of subsection 15.1 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “Ontario Insurance Commission or”.

3. Subsection 3 (3) of the Schedule to the Regulation is amended by striking out “Ontario Insurance Commission or”.

4. Subsection 3.1 (2) of the Schedule to the Regulation is amended by striking out “Ontario Insurance Commission or”.

5. This Regulation comes into force the day it is filed.
