1 Subject to section 2, remission is hereby granted of the customs duties paid or payable under the Customs Tariff in respect of refractory bricks, blocks, tiles, and similar refractory constructional products, of heading No. 68.10 or 68.15, employed in the production of metallurgical coke, iron and steel.

Conditions

2 The remission is granted on condition that

(a) the refractory products in question were imported into Canada during the period commencing on February 1, 1997, and ending on the day that this Order comes into force;
(b) a claim for remission is made to the Minister of National Revenue within two years after the date on which this Order comes into force; and
(c) the importer files such evidence as may be required by the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency to determine eligibility for remission.

Coming into Force

3 This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.
