Assigning to the Minister of the Environment the Administration, Management and Control of Certain Public Lands
P.C. 1980-1828 1980-07-10Whereas the Governor in Council is satisfied that the public lands described in the schedule hereto are required for wildlife research, conservation or interpretation.
Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of the Environment, pursuant to subsection 4(1) of the Canada Wildlife Act, is pleased hereby to assign to the Minister of the Environment, for the purposes of subsection 4(2) of the said Act, the administration, management and control of the public lands described in the schedule hereto in substitution

(a) for the lands in the Province of Ontario described in item 3.1 of Part IV of the Schedule to Order in Council P.C. 1978-3459 of 16th November, 1978Footnote *; and
(b) for the lands in the Province of Ontario described in item 8 of Part IV of the Schedule to Order in Council P.C. 1978-3532 of 23rd November, 1978Footnote **.

SCHEDULE

1 In the Province of Ontario
Long Point National Wildlife Area
Being all those parcels of land, in the regional municipality of Haldimand-Norfolk, in the township of Norfolk, formerly in the geographic township of South Walsingham, county of Norfolk, described as all of Long Point Block Number One; the undivided east three quarters of Block Number Two; Block Number Three; Block Number Four; Lots One, Two and Three in Block Number Five; Block Number Six; Lots One to Eleven in Block Number Seven, Block Number Eight; Block Number Nine; Block Number Ten; Block Number Eleven and Block Number Twelve. Together with all the lands adjacent to the said Lots and Blocks on Long Point that on the 4th day of May, 1866 lay outside the traverse lines of survey of the outline of Long Point, shown on a plan of survey by James Black, Provincial Land Surveyor dated the 24th day of April, 1856;
Saving and excepting thereout, Part 1 on Plan No. 37R-1354 in the Land Registry Office for the Registry Division of Norfolk at Simcoe being part of Block Number 12;
Said remainder containing 2814 hectares (6,953 acres) more or less.

2 In the Province of Ontario
Prince Edward Point National Wildlife Area
Being all those parcels of land, in the County of Prince Edward, in the Township of South Marysburg, being more particularly described under Firstly and Secondly as follows:
Firstly, those parcels designated as Part 1 and Part 3 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office for the Registry Division of Prince Edward (No. 47) at Picton as 47R-1764 and in Canada Lands Surveys Records as 66296;
Secondly, those parcels described as part of the east quarter of Lot 11, Lot 12, and Parts of 13 and 14, Long Point or Point Traverse Concession in a deed between Point Traverse Holdings Inc. and Her Majesty the Queen in right of Canada, registered in said Office as 71143; said parcels under Firstly and Secondly containing together about 246.84 hectares (610 acres).
