Article 5 North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Medal for Operation "Eagle Assist" Order
P.C. 2003-1298  2003-08-22Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, hereby

(a) authorizes Canadians to accept and wear the Article 5 North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Medal for Operation "Eagle Assist", with an "Article 5" bar, in recognition of honourable service in operations conducted according to Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which operations consisted of the deployment of NATO AWACS (airborne warning and control systems) aircraft in the U.S. from October 12, 2001 to May 16, 2002; and
(b) directs that the Medal follow the NATO Medal for the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in the order of precedence in the Canadian Honours System.
