Amending Reg. 611 of R.R.O. 1990

(Safety Inspections)

1. Regulation 611 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is amended by adding the following section immediately before the heading “Propane Fueled Motor Vehicles”:

11.1 (1) Subsections (2) to (4) apply in respect of a bus carrying passengers and in respect of a physically-disabled passenger vehicle carrying passengers if,

(a) the plate portion of the vehicle’s permit bears the name City of Ottawa or Cité d’Ottawa;

(b) after December 10, 2008, an under-vehicle inspection and under-vehicle inspection report have been completed in respect of the vehicle, in accordance with subsections 11 (1) to (6) and section 12 of Ontario Regulation 199/07 (Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspections) made under the Act, as if that Part applied, with necessary modifications, in respect of the vehicle;

(c) on any day on or after March 2, 2009, a vehicle inspection and a vehicle inspection report described in subsections 6 (1) and (2) and section 7 of Ontario Regulation 199/07, with necessary modifications, have been completed in respect of the vehicle on that day or during the preceding 31 days; and

(d) the driver operating the vehicle has possession of,

(i) the inspection report referred to in clause (b), and

(ii) on or after March 2, 2009, the inspection report referred to in clause (c).

(2) Despite section 11, if the portion of the vehicle’s annual inspection sticker referred to in clause 11 (6) (a) was valid on December 10, 2008, that portion of the vehicle’s sticker remains valid until this section is revoked.

(3) Despite section 11, if the portion of the vehicle’s annual inspection sticker referred to in clause 11 (6) (b) was valid on December 10, 2008, that portion of the vehicle’s sticker remains valid until this section is revoked.

(4) Despite section 11, if the vehicle’s safety inspection sticker referred to in subsection 11 (8) was valid on December 10, 2008, that sticker remains valid until this section is revoked.

(5) This section is revoked on May 1, 2009.

2. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
