MOTOR CAR AMENDMENT ACT 2009

Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of
Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Short title
1 This Act may be cited as the Motor Car Amendment Act 2009.

Amends section 54 of the Motor Car Act 1951
2 Section 54 of the Motor Car Act 1951 is amended by inserting
the following next after subsection (5)—

“(5A) For greater certainty, a motor car that does not
comply with approved emission standards, as required by
section 53A, is unfit for the purpose for which it is to be
licensed.”.

Amends section 19 of the Motor Car Act 1951
2A Section 19(2) of the Motor Car Act 1951 is amended by inserting
next after the words “Section 54(5)” the words “and (5A)”.

Amends section 55 of the Motor Car Act 1951
2B Section 55(4) of the Motor Car Act 1951 is amended by inserting
next after the words “section 54(5)” the words “and (5A)”.

Related amendment to the Government Fees Regulations 1976
3 The Schedule to the Government Fees Regulations 1976 is
amended by repealing item (4) of Head 36 and replacing it with the
following—

“(4) Examining—

(a) a vehicle with four or more
than four wheels

(b) a vehicle with less than four
wheels
