MOTOR CAR AMENDMENT (NO. 3) ACT 2009

Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of
Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Short title
1 This Act, which amends the Motor Car Act 1951 (“the principal
Act”), may be cited as the Motor Car Amendment (No. 3) Act 2009.
Amends section 36
2 Section 36 of the principal Act is amended—
(a) in subsection (4)(b), by deleting the words “on the
payment of a fee of two thousand dollars for each airport
limousine”;
(b) by inserting the following next after subsection (4)(b)—
“(bb) an applicant for a permit shall, on approval of
their application, pay the fee set out in Schedule
1B;”; and
(c) in subsection (5), by deleting the words “(4)(b)” and
substituting the words “(4)(bb)”.

Amends section 36A
3 Section 36Aof the principal Act is amended—
(a) in subsection (5), by inserting the following next after
paragraph (b)—
“(bb) an applicant for a permit shall, on approval of
their application, pay the fee set out in Schedule
1B;”; and
(b) by inserting the following after subsection (10)—
“(11) All monies received by the Board by way of fees
under subsection (5)(bb) shall be paid into the
Consolidated Fund.”.
Amends Schedule 1B
4 Schedule 1B of the principal Act is amended by inserting the
following immediately before the item headed “MINIBUS SERVICE
PERMIT FEE”—
“AIRPORT LIMOUSINE SERVICE PERMIT FEE
Permit fee per vehicle $2,000
LIMOUSINE SERVICE PERMIT FEE
Permit fee per vehicle $50,000”.
Amends Schedule 2
5 Schedule 2 of the principal Act is amended by inserting the
following after item R—
“S LIMOUSINES
Where the dimensions do not exceed 210 inches in length
and 77 inches in width
$1,010.55”.
