CUSTOMS DUTY (INFRASOUND EQUIPMENT) REMISSION
ORDER 2008


The Minister of Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred by

section 2 of the Customs Duty (Special Remission) Act 1951, makes the
following Order:

Citation
1 This Order may be cited as the Customs Duty (Infrasound
Equipment) Remission Order 2008.

Interpretation
2 In this Order —

“Commission” means The Preparatory Commission for the
Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization;

“exempted goods” means any equipment, fittings, fixtures
(including security fencing) or replacement parts for use
solely in the installation, testing, certification, operation,
repair or maintenance of the infrasound monitoring station
(known as IS51), which is to be installed by the Commission
in Bermuda.

Exemption from import duty
3 (1) The Commission and its agents are exempted from the
payment of import duty in respect of the importation of any exempted
goods into Bermuda by the Commission or its agents.

(2) If this Order is revoked, exempted goods which have been
imported into Bermuda free of import duty by virtue of paragraph (1)
shall not be subject to any import duty by reason only that this Order
has been revoked.
