BERMUDA MONETARY AUTHORITY (BERMUDA SHIPWRECK
COMMEMORATIVE COINS) REGULATIONS 2007


The Minister of Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred by
section 13 of the Bermuda Monetary Authority Act 1969, and on the
recommendation of the Bermuda Monetary Authority makes the
following Regulations:

Citation
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Bermuda Monetary
Authority (Bermuda Shipwreck Commemorative Coins) Regulations
2007.

Issue of Bermuda Shipwreck Commemorative Coins
2 The Bermuda Monetary Authority (in these Regulations referred
to as "the Authority") may issue coins (in these Regulations referred to as
"Bermuda Shipwreck Commemorative Coins").

Denomination
3 The denomination of the Bermuda Shipwreck Commemorative
Coins shall be as follows—

(a) Coin 1 – one ounce silver - $3;

(b) coin 2 – one-twentieth ounce gold - $3;

(c) coin 3 – one ounce gold - $30;

(d) coin 4 - five ounce silver - $9;

(e) coin 5 - five ounce gold - $90;

(f) coin 6 – five ounce platinum - $300;

(g) coin 7 – one kilo silver - $60;

(h) coin 8 – one kilo gold - $600.

Form and design of coins
4 The form and design of the Bermuda Shipwreck Commemorative
Coins shall be in accordance with the sample coins deposited with the
Authority and in particular —

(a) the obverse design of every coin shall be the portrait by
sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley of Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth II in profile, with the inscription "BERMUDA",
"ELIZABETH II" and the respective year "2007";

(b) the reverse design of the second six coins shall depict—

(i) a sailing ship Santa Lucia in the centre and the
circumferential lettering with the inscriptions
"SANTA LUCIA”, “Anno Domini 1584", a
depiction of a hog, and the denomination;

(ii) the sailing ship San Pedro in the centre and the
circumferential lettering with the inscriptions
“SAN PEDRO”, “Anno Domini 1595”, a depiction
of a hog and the denomination;

(iii) the Dutchman Manilla Wreck in the centre and
the circumferential lettering with the
inscriptions “MANILLA WRECK”, “Anno Domini
1739”, a depiction of a hog and the
denomination;

(iv) the steamer Kate in the centre and the
circumferential lettering with the inscriptions
“KATE”, “Anno Domini 1878”, a depiction of a
hog and the denomination;

(v) the Spanish luxury liner Cristobal Colon in the
centre and the circumferential lettering with the
inscriptions “CRISTOBAL COLON”, “Anno
Domini 1936”, a depiction of a hog and the
denomination;

(vi) the luxury yacht Colonel William G. Ball in the
centre and the circumferential lettering with the
inscriptions “COLONEL WILLIAM G. BALL”;

“Anno Domini 1943”, a depiction of a hog and
the denomination; and

(c) the shape of every coin shall be 3 lobed.

Standard weight and composition
5 The standard weight and composition of the Bermuda Shipwreck
Commemorative Coins, and the amount of tolerance and variation
allowed therein, shall be as set out in the Schedule.
