TOBACCO PRODUCTS (PUBLIC HEALTH) AMENDMENT ACT
2005 COMMENCEMENT DAY NOTICE 2006


The Minister responsible for Health, in exercise of the powers
conferred upon him by section 11 of the Tobacco Products (Public
Health) Amendment Act 2005, gives the following Notice:

Citation
1 This Notice may be cited as the Tobacco Products (Public Health)
Amendment Act 2005 Commencement Day Notice 2006.

Commencement

2. (1) The following provisions of the Tobacco Products (Public Health)
Act 1987 as amended by the Tobacco Products (Public Health)
Amendment Act 2005 come into operation on the 6th day of January
2006:

(a) the definitions “tobacco” and “tobacco products” in section 2;

(b) sections 4D and 4E; and

(c) sections 5(8) and (9).

(2) All of the provisions of the Tobacco Products (Public Health) Act 1987
as amended by the Tobacco Products (Public Health) Amendment Act
2005 that are not referred to in subsection (1) come into operation on the
1st day of April, 2006.
