GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES (HEALTH INSURANCE)
(BENEFITS) AMENDMENT ORDER 2006



The Minister of Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred
upon her by section 12 of the Government Employees (Health Insurance)
Act 1986, makes the following Order:

Citation
1 This Order, which amends the Government Employees (Health
Insurance) (Benefits) Order 1997 (“the principal Order”), may be cited as
the Government Employees (Health Insurance) (Benefits) Amendment
Order 2006.

Amendment to Part II of the Schedule to the principal Order
2 Part II of the Schedule to the principal Order is amended —

(a) by inserting next after paragraph 3 the following —

“Annual Physical Examination
3A In respect of each insured person, subject to the
maximum amount determined by the Committee, the
cost of one general physical examination per calendar
year.”;

(b) by inserting next after paragraph 9 the following —

“Birth Control
9A (1) Subject to a maximum of 80% of the expenses
incurred, the cost of contraception, including oral
contraceptives, injectable contraceptives and birth
control patches.

(2) The expenses incurred for a tubal ligation or
vasectomy.”;

(c) by inserting next after paragraph 10 the following —

“Chiropodist Services
10A Subject to the maximum amount determined by
the Committee, the cost of services provided by a
chiropodist.”; and

(d) in paragraph 13,

(i) by deleting the figure $150 in subparagraph (1) and
substituting $200; and

(ii) by deleting the figure $125 in the proviso to
subparagraph (3) and substituting $175.

Commencement
3 This Order shall come into operation on 1st May, 2006.
