HOSPITAL INSURANCE (HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN)
(PREMIUM) AMENDMENT ORDER 2005

The Minister of Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on
her by section 13(2) of the Hospital Insurance Act 1970, makes the
following Order:

Short title
1 This Order may be cited as the Hospital Insurance (Health
Insurance Plan) (Premium) Amendment Order 2005.

Rescinds and replaces paragraphs 2 and 3
2 Paragraphs 2 and 3 of the Hospital Insurance (Health Insurance
Plan) (Premium) Order 1987 are rescinded and replaced by the following:

"Premium
2 Subject to paragraph 3, the premium (including the
standard premium) to be paid to the Commission in respect of
each health insurance plan effected with the Commission under
the Act shall be $161.14¢ a month (or $37.19¢ a week where
paid weekly).

Persons over the age of 65 years
3 The premium (including the standard premium) to be
paid to the Commission in respect of each health insurance plan

effected with the Commission under the Act for persons over the
age of sixty-five years who do not qualify for subsidised hospital
treatment under section 2(1) of the Act shall be $519.61¢ a
month (or $119.91¢ a week where paid weekly).".

Commencement
3 These Regulations come into operation on 1 April 2005.
