AUXILIARY BICYCLES AMENDMENT ACT 2005

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Auxiliary Bicycles Act
1954:

Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of
Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Short title
1 This Act, which amends the Auxiliary Bicycles Act 1954 (the
"principal Act"), may be cited as the Auxiliary Bicycles Amendment Act
2005.

Inserts section 19A in principal Act
2 The principal Act is amended by inserting next after section 19
the following section ⎯

“No auxiliary bicycle licence issued if traffic fine is unpaid
19A (1) An auxiliary bicycle licence shall not be issued or
reissued if the owner of the auxiliary bicycle owes a fine imposed
for a traffic offence within the meaning of the Traffic Offences
(Penalties) Act 1976.

(2) Subsection (1) applies with respect to a fine even if the
fine was imposed before that subsection came into operation.”

Commencement
3 This Act comes into operation on such day as the Minister may
appoint by notice published in the Gazette.
