AUXILIARY BICYCLES ACT 1954

THE AUXILIARY BICYCLES (EXAMINATION, LICENSING AND
REGISTRATION) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2004

The Minister of Toursim and Transport, in exercise of the powers
conferred on him by sections 29 and 30 of the Auxiliary Bicycles Act
1954, makes the following Regulations:

Citation
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Auxiliary Bicycles
(Examination, Licensing and Registration) Amendment Regulations
2004.

Amends regulation 2 of SR&O 17/1955
2 The Auxiliary Bicycles (Examination, Licensing and Registration)
Regulations 1955 are amended in regulation 2 by inserting in the
appropriate alphabetical order the following definition —

""approved emissions standards" means the emissions standards
approved by the Minister pursuant to section 17A(2)(a) of the
Auxiliary Bicycles Act 1954;".

Amends regulation 8 of SR&O 17/1955
3 The Auxiliary Bicycles (Examination, Licensing and Registration)
Regulations 1955 are amended in regulation 8

AUXILIARY BICYCLES (EXAMINATION, LICENSING AND
REGISTRATION) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2004

(a) by deleting the full stop at the end of sub-paragraph (e)
of paragraph (2) and inserting a semicolon; and

(b) by inserting next after that sub-paragraph the following
new sub-paragraph—

"(f) there is produced to the Minister a certificate or
other valid document to be determined by the
Minister, in respect of the auxiliary bicycle or
type of auxiliary bicycle

(i) signed by or on behalf of the bicycle's
manufacturer or a governmental agency;
and

(ii) stating that the bicycle or type of bicycle
complies with the emissions standards
referred to in section 17A(1) of the Act."
