LAND VALUATION AND TAX AMENDMENT ACT 2004

WHEREAS it is expedient to increase the penalties for offences
under the Land Valuation and Tax Act 1967:

Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of
Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Citation
1 This Act may be cited as the Land Valuation and Tax
Amendment Act 2004.

Interpretation
2 In this Act, the "principal Act" means the Land Valuation and
Tax Act 1967.

Amends section 7 of principal Act
3 Section 7 of the principal Act is amended —

(a) in subsection (3) by deleting "$144" and substituting
"$1,000";

(b) in subsection (5) by deleting "$720" and substituting
"$5,000".

Amends section 8 of principal Act
4 Section 8(2) of the principal Act is amended by deleting "$180"
and substituting "$5,000".

Amends section 58 of principal Act
5 Section 58 of the principal Act is amended —

(a) in subsection (3) by deleting "$144" and substituting
"$1,000"; and

(b) in subsection (5) by deleting "$720" and substituting
"$5,000".
