THE MOTOR CAR (CONSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT AND USE)
AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2003

The Minister of Transport, in exercise of the power conferred
upon him by sections 11, 102 and 103 of the Motor Car Act 1951, makes
the following Regulations:

Citation
1 These Regulations, may be cited as the Motor Car (Construction,
Equipment and Use) Amendment Regulations 2003.

Amends regulation 20 of the Motor Car (Construction, Equipment
And Use) Regulations 1952
2 Regulation 20(2) of the Motor Car (Construction, Equipment And
Use) Regulations 1952 is amended by deleting sub-paragraph (d) and
substituting the following 

"(d) where a motor car is equipped with a mirror
externally, on the forward passenger window, and the
driver side window, all windows, other than the
windscreen, may have affixed to them tinted film, sun
shading material or other coloured material if the
material is of a type that is authorised by a directive of
the Minister and the visual transmission of light
through the windows

(i) in the case of the forward passenger window,
and the driver side window, is not less than
thirty-five percent; and

(ii) in the case of the rear passenger windows, and
the rear windscreen, is not less than thirty
percent,

when measured perpendicular to the surface by an
approved instrument.".
