The Minister of Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred
upon him by section 10(1)(a) and (b) of the Marine Board Act 1962, gives
the following Notice: 

Citation
1 This Notice may be cited as the Marine Board (Control Over
Maritime Traffic) (No. 6) Notice 2003.

Power boat closed circuit races
2 Four power boat closed circuit races will take place on Sunday,
7th September 2003.

Closure of certain areas
3 The areas specified below will be closed to normal marine traffic
during the Races from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. —

(a) the areas between No. 1 Dock and No. 6 Dock out to a
distance of approximately 500 feet; and

(b) the areas between No. 8 Dock to World's End Shoal
Channel Marker to Reid Island to White's Island and
back to No. 8 Dock.

Patrol of course
4 The areas referred to in paragraph 3 will be patrolled by the
Marshall boats during the Race and all mariners, pilots and boatmen
approaching or in such areas 

(a) shall exercise extreme caution;

(b) shall not exceed 5 nautical miles; and

(c) shall ensure that the boat they are navigating does not
create a wake.

Speed limits not to apply
5 The speed limits fixed by the Marine Board (Declaration of Speed
Limits for Boats) (Mariners) Notice 2001 shall not apply to persons and
boats participating in the Races on the date and at the times specified in
paragraphs 2 and 3 respectively.

Postponement of race
6 In the event that, due to inclement weather, the race is
postponed until Sunday, 21st September 2003 and the provisions of this
Notice shall in all respects apply to the race held on that date.
