MOTOR CAR AMENDMENT (NO 2) ACT 2002

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Motor Car Act 1951:

Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of
Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Citation
1 This Act, which amends the Motor Car Act 1951 (hereinafter
called the "principal Act"), may be cited as the Motor Car Amendment
(No. 2) Act 2002.

Repeal and replacement of section 24 (1) of the principal Act
2 Section 24 (1) of the principal Act is repealed and replaced by the
following

"24 (1) Subject as hereinafter provided, no person shall use or
cause or allow any other person to use any motor cycle the
specifications of which are not in accordance with the statutory
specifications set out in the First Schedule and made applicable
respectively to the classes of motor cycles therein except with the
written permission of the Minister.

Provided that the foregoing restrictions shall not apply in relation
to any motor cycle owned by the Government and used in the
service of the Police Service.".

Amendment of the First Schedule to principal Act
3 Paragraph K of the First Schedule to the principal Act is repealed
and replaced by the following

"K MOTOR CYCLES

Two stroke

1 Engine Capacity

Four stroke

1 Engine Capacity
2 Horsepower

not exceeding 100 c.c.'s

not exceeding 150 c.c.'s
not exceeding 15 hp or
11.25 kilowatts"
