THE BERMUDA MONETARY AUTHORITY (HERITAGE SERIES
COMMEMORATIVE COINS) REGULATIONS 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13 of the Bermuda
Monetary Authority Act 1969, the Minister of Finance, on the
recommendation of the Bermuda Monetary Authority, makes the
following regulations:

Citation
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Bermuda Monetary
Authority (Heritage Series Commemorative Coins) Regulations 2001.

Issue of Heritage Series Commemorative Coins
2 The Authority may issue coins to commemorate the institution of
Bermuda Day (in these Regulations referred to as "Heritage Series
Commemorative Coins").

Denominations
3 The denomination of the Heritage Series Commemorative Coins
shall be as follows

$5 (five dollars)

$1 (one dollar)

Form and Design
4 The form and design of the Heritage Series Commemorative
Coins shall be in accordance with the sample coins deposited with the
Authority and in particular

(a) the obverse design of every coin shall be the portrait by
Ian Rank-Bradley of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in
profile, together with the inscriptions "BERMUDA" and
"ELIZABETH II" and the denomination;

(b) the reverse design of each coin shall depict the Gombey
dancers;

(c) the shape of each coin shall be round.

Standard weight and composition
5 The standard weight and composition of the Heritage Series
Commemorative Coins, and the amount of tolerance and variation
allowed therein, shall be as set forth in the Schedule.
