WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Bermuda Government
Scholarships Act 1958:

Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of
Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Short title
1 This Act may be cited as the Bermuda Government Scholarships
Amendment Act 2000.

Interpretation
2 In this Act, "the principal Act" means the Bermuda Government
Scholarships Act 1958.

Section 3 of principal Act amended
3 Section 3 of the principal Act is amended by deleting "$12,500"
and substituting "$15,000".

Section 4 of principal Act amended
4 Section 4(i) of the principal Act is amended by deleting "$15,000"
and substituting "$17,500".

Section 6 of principal Act amended
5 Section 6 of the principal Act is amended by designating the
existing section as subsection (1) and by inserting the following
subsection after subsection (1)

" (2) A person who has been awarded a Bermuda Government
Scholarship under this Act shall not be entitled to apply for, or
be awarded, a second Scholarship under this Act.".
