PUBLIC HOLIDAYS AMENDMENT ACT 1999

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Public Holidays Act
1947:

Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of
Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Short title
1 This Act may be cited as the Public Holidays Amendment Act
1999.

Amendment of section 6 of the Public Holidays Act 1947
2 Section 6(2)(a) of the Public Holidays Act 1947 is amended—

(a) by deleting the words "Cup Match Day" and substituting
the words "Emancipation Day";

(b) by adding after the words "Somers Day" the words
"which last two days shall together be known as "Cup
Match"".

Amendment of Schedule to Public Holidays Act 1947
3 The Schedule to the Public Holidays Act 1947 is amended—

(a) in the entry relating to the Queen's Birthday by deleting
the words "the third Monday in June" and substituting
the words "the Monday following the second Saturday in
June";

(b) by deleting the words "Cup Match Day" and substituting
the words "Emancipation Day".
