THE FISHERIES (PROTECTED AREAS) AMENDMENT ORDER
1997

[made under section 4 of the Fisheries Act 1972 [title 25 item 8} and
brought into operation on 23 May 1997]

Citation
1 This Order which amends the Fisheries (Protected Areas) Order
1990 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Order") may be cited as the
Fisheries (Protected Areas) Amendment Order 1997.

Amends paragraph 2 of principal Order
2 Paragraph 2 of the principal Order is amended—

(a) by inserting next after sub-paragraph (h) the following—

"(i) "Xing Da Area" being that area within a 200
metre radius of a mooring buoy located at 32o

25.027' N, 64o 54.375' W at the wreck of the
vessel "Xing Da"; and

(b) by renumbering sub-paragraphs (i) to (l) as sub-
paragraphs (j) to (m) respectively.

Revokes and replaces paragraph 3 of principal Order
3 Paragraph 3 of the principal Order is revoked and replaced by
the following—

"Prohibitions
3 The taking of any fish and the anchoring of any vessel—

(a) at any time, within the protected areas specified
in paragraph 2(a) to (i) (inclusive); or

(b) during the period beginning on 1 May and
continuing until and throughout 31 August in
any year, within the protected areas specified in
paragraph 2(j) to (m) (inclusive),

is prohibited.".
