THE MERCHANT SHIPPING (CONTROL OF POLLUTION BY
NOXIOUS LIQUID SUBSTANCES IN BULK) AMENDMENT

REGULATIONS 1996

The Governor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by
article 3 of the Merchant Shipping (Prevention and Control of Pollution)
Order 1987* of the United Kingdom, as modified and extended to
Bermuda by the Merchant Shipping (Prevention and Control of Pollution)
(Bermuda) Order 1992, makes the following Regulations:—

Citation
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping
(Control of Pollution by Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk) Amendment
Regulations 1996.

Modifications of SI 1987 No 551
2 (1) The Merchant Shipping (Control of Pollution by Noxious
Liquid Substances in Bulk) Regulations 1987**, as amended, for the time
being in force under article 3(1) of the Merchant Shipping (Prevention
and Control of Pollution) Order 1987 as it applies in the United Kingdom

shall, subject to the further modifications specified in paragraph (2), be
deemed to be amended by the Governor under article 3 of the Merchant
Shipping (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Order 1987, as extended
to Bermuda.

(2) The Merchant Shipping (Control of Pollution by Noxious
Liquid Substances in Bulk) Regulations 1987, as amended, are modified
as follows:

(a) in regulation 1(3), for the words "Secretary of State"
substitute the word "Minister charged with responsibility
for Marine and Ports Services"

(b) in regulation 26, for the words "United Kingdom"
substitute the word "Bermuda".
