MARINE BOARD (SAFETY) REGULATIONS 1993

MARINE BOARD (SAFETY) (EXEMPTION) NOTICE 1993

[made under regulation 11 of the Marine Board (Safety) Regulations 1993
[title 21 item 3(k)] and brought into operation on 26 November 1993]

Citation
1 This Notice may be cited as the Marine Board (Safety)
(Exemption) Notice 1993.

Non-application
2 (1) Regulations 5(2) and 8 of the Marine Board (Safety)
Regulations 1993 [title 21 item 3(k)] (hereafter referred to as "the
Regulations") shall not apply to a boardsailing craft, commonly known as
"windsurfer".

(2) Regulation 5(1)(c), (d), (f) and (2)(a) and regulation 8 of the
Regulations shall not apply to a kayak/canoe.

(3) Regulation 5(1)(b) to (d) (inclusive) and (2)(a) of the
Regulations shall not apply to a personal water craft commonly known
as "jet ski" but when a jet ski is not in inshore waters it shall carry one
approved combined daylight smoke/night flare and a tow rope of not less
than 30' (9.14m).

(4) Regulations 5 and 8 of the Regulations shall not apply to
sailing vessels which are accepted as a class or type by the Bermuda

Yachting Association and associated clubs and classes when operating in
races organized by and in accordance with sailing rules and regulations
of that Association.
