GOVERNMENT FEES AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 1993

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Minister of Finance
by subsection (1) of section 2 of the Government Fees Act 1965 and all
other powers him hereunto enabling, the following Regulations are
hereby made:

Citation
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Government Fees
Amendment Regulations 1993.

Interpretation
2 In these Regulations—

"column" means column in the Schedule to these Regulations;

"the commencement day" means—

(a) as respects amendments affecting the Marine Board Act
1962, 1st April 1994;

(b) otherwise, 1st April 1993.

Amendment of S.R.& O. No 24 of 1976
3 The entries in the Schedule to the Government Fees Regulations
1976 in respect of the statutes listed in the first column are amended in
the manner respectively specified in the second column.

Commencement and transitional
4 (1) Subject to paragraph (2), these Regulations come into
operation on the commencement day.

(2) Nothing in these Regulations affects the validity or effect of
a fee that was paid—

(a) before the commencement day; and

(b) in respect of a period that was still running on that day.

SCHEDULE (Regulations 2, 3)

First column

Bermuda Immigration
and Protection Act
1956:

Second column

delete sub-paragraph (b) of
paragraph (9) and substitute

"(b) subject to (a) above—

(i) where the land is a
condo: for this
purpose, a condo is
an interest, iden-
tifiable as an owner-
ship interest, in a
condominium (as
defined in subsection
(2) of section 2 of the
Condominium Act
1986) whether that
interest, or any part
of it, is held in fee
simple or in any other
way ................................

Marine Board Act
1962:

(a) delete paragraph (5) where
it first appears and
substitute the following—

"(5) Annual registration of
boat up to and including
12' 11" in length (other
than boat mentioned in
(3)(a), (b) or (c) above) ................................24.00

and for each additional
foot of length or part
thereof ................................................................2.00";

(b) delete paragraph (6) where
it first appears;

(c) in paragraph (7), delete
"25.00" and substitute
"50.00".

Motor Car Act 1951: In paragraph (7)(a), insert immediately after the
word "coaches" the words "and trucks used by
farmers and fishermen while engaged in their
trade or business and with permits to use same".
