CONTRIBUTORY PENSIONS ACT 1970

THE CONTRIBUTORY PENSIONS (AMENDMENT OF
CONTRIBUTIONS AND BENEFITS) ORDER 1993

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Minister of Finance
by section 37(1) of the Contributory Pensions Act 1970, the following
Order is hereby made:

Citation
1 This Order may be cited as the Contributory Pensions
(Amendment of Contributions and Benefits) Order 1993.

Amends Act and Second and Third Schedules to Act
2 With effect from 16th August 1993, the Contributory Pensions
Act 1970 is amended as follows:

(a) in section 13(1), for the words "sixty dollars and forty
cents" substitute the words "sixty-four dollars and
eighty-two cents" and in the proviso to section 13(1), for
the words "sixty-two dollars and fifteen cents" substitute
the words "sixty-six dollars and seventy cents";

(b) in section 17A, for the symbol and figures "$87.73"
substitute the symbol and figures "$94.15";

(c) in section 17B, for the symbol and figures "$60.40"
substitute the symbol and figures "$64.82";

(d) in the Second Schedule—

(i) in paragraph 1, for the symbol and figures
"$131.63" substitute the symbol and figures
"$141.26";

(ii) in paragraph 2, for the words "eighty cents"
substitute the words "eighty-two cents";

(iii) in the proviso to paragraph 3, for the symbol
and figures "$62.15" substitute the symbol and
figures "$66.70";

(e) in the Third Schedule—

(i) in paragraph 1, for the symbol and figures
"$131.63" substitute the symbol and figures
"$141.26";

(ii) in the proviso to paragraph 2, for the symbol
and figures "$62.15" substitute the symbol and
figures "$66.70";

(iii) in paragraph 3(1), for the symbol and figures
"$13.14" substitute the symbol and figures
"$14.10".

Amends First Schedule to Act
3 With effect from 2 August 1993, the First Schedule to the
Contributory Pensions Act 1970 is amended as follows:

(a) for the symbol and figures "$18.38" wherever they
appear substitute the symbol and figures "$20.00"; and

(b) for the symbol and figures "$36.76" substitute the
symbol and figures "$40.00".
