COMPUTERIZATION AND REVISION OF LAWS AMENDMENT
ACT 1993

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Computerization and
Revision of Laws Act 1989:

Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of
Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Short title
1 This Act may be cited as the Computerization and Revision of
Laws Amendment Act 1993.

Amends s 2 of Act No 64 of 1989
2 Section 2 of the Computerization and Revision of Laws Act 1989
("the Act") is amended by deleting the word "Governor" from the definition
of "effective date" and substituting "Attorney-General".

Amends s 9 of Act
3 Section 9 of the Act is amended by deleting subsection (2) and
adding the following subsections—

" (2) In this Act, that which is done under subsection (1)
is referred to as the periodic updating of the revised edition, and
the product is referred to as a periodic update; and "updated" in
subsection (4) has a corresponding meaning.

(3) Every notice published under subsection (2) of
section 14 in relation to a periodic update, and every new or
replacement page contained in a periodic update published
under subsection (1) of this section, shall specify the revision
date of that update.

(4) In this section the expression "revision date", in
relation to a periodic update, means the date to which the law
has been updated by that update.

(5) Subsection (3) does not apply in relation to any
periodic update with a revision date earlier than 1st August
1992.".

Commencement of s 2
4 Section 2 of this Act shall be deemed to have come into operation
on the commencement of the Computerization and Revision of Laws
Amendment Act 1991.
