Principal Regulations
1. In these Regulations, "Principal Regulations" means the Radiocommunications (Licensing and General) Regulations. 1989 No. 193 RADIOCOMMUNICATIONS (LICENSING AND GENERAL) REGULATIONS

Interpretation
2. Regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations is amended: (a) by inserting in subregulation (1) the following definition: " 'ancillary communications service network' means a network of stations that is used for the simultaneous transmission or retransmission of a secondary radiocommunications service, being a service provided by means of the main carrier signal of a primary radio or television broadcasting service;"; (b) by omitting paragraph (a) from the definition of "multipoint distribution station receiver" in subregulation (1) and substituting the following paragraph: "(a) established solely for the reception of radio transmissions from a multipoint distribution station or a multipoint distribution repeater station, other than such a station in its capacity as a part of a licensed ancillary communications service network, Class B; and"; (c) by omitting the definition of "narrowband area receiver" in subregulation (1) and substituting the following definition: " 'narrowband area receiver' means a station: (a) established solely for the reception of radio transmissions from a narrowband area station, other than such a station in its capacity as a part of a licensed ancillary communications service network, Class A; and (b) that uses a single frequency and an occupied bandwidth not exceeding 4 megahertz;". 1989 No. 193 RADIOCOMMUNICATIONS (LICENSING AND GENERAL) REGULATIONS

Schedule 1
3. Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after item 10 the following items: "10A Ancillary communications service network, Class A An ancillary communications service network of broadcasting stations. 10B Ancillary communications service network, Class B An ancillary communications service network of television stations.".
