Citation

Interpretation
2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears- "committee" means a committee constituted under section 25 of the Act; "the Act" means the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission Act 1985; "working party" means a sub-committee constituted under section 26 of the Act. 1985 No. 385 NATIONAL OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMISSION (ALLOWANCES)

Travelling allowances
3. (1) Where- (a) a part-time member of the Commission; (b) a member of the Executive; (c) a member of a committee; or (d) a member of a working party who is a person referred to in paragraph (a), (b) or (c), travels, with the approval of the Chairperson- (e) to attend a meeting of the Commission, the Executive, the committee or the working party, as the case may be; or (f) while otherwise engaged on the affairs of the Commission, the Executive, the committee or the working party, as the case may be, travelling allowance is payable to the person in respect of the expenses of that travel at the rate at which travelling allowance would be payable to the person if the person were a Senior Executive Service officer of the Australian Public Service. (2) Where a member of a working party (not being a person referred to in paragraph (1) (a), (b), (c) or (d)) travels, with the approval of the Chairperson- (a) to attend a meeting of the working party; or (b) while otherwise engaged on the affairs of the working party, travelling allowance is payable to the member in respect of the expenses of that travel at the rate at which travelling allowance would be payable to the member if the member were an officer of the Australian Public Service other than a Secretary of a Department or a Senior Executive Service officer. (3) A reference in sub-regulation (1) to a part-time member of the Commission includes a reference to an alternate of that member appointed under sub-section 11 (1) of the Act.
(4) A reference in sub-regulation (1) to a member of the Executive includes a reference to an alternate of that member appointed under sub-section 21 (1) of the Act.
(5) Sub-regulations (1) and (2) do not apply to- (a) a member of, or a candidate for election to, the Parliament of the Commonwealth or the Parliament of a State; (b) an officer, or employee, within the meaning of the Public Service Act 1922; or (c) a person employed by an authority of the Commonwealth. 1985 NO. 385 NATIONAL OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMISSION (ALLOWANCES)

Remuneration and allowances of Chairperson
4. For the purposes of sub-sections 17 (1) and (2) respectively of the Act, the following remuneration and allowances are prescribed, namely, the remuneration and allowances payable to a Level 6 officer in the Senior Executive Service of the Australian Public Service.
