Determination 2006/01:
Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office
          (i)        Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.   (ii)        This Determination takes effect on and from the date of signature unless otherwise specified.   PART 1 – FULL TIME OFFICES   1.1             In this part, Determination Number 6 of 2005 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.   1.2             Table 2A of the Principal Determination is amended by omitting the current entries  for ‘Chair, Australian Communications and Media Authority’ and for ‘Director-General, Australian Security Intelligence Organisation’, and substituting the following entries:

  1.3             The Principal Determination is amended by omitting the current wording of  subclause 2.2.1 and substituting the following wording:   Australian Communications and Media Authority, Chair:  Mr Christopher Chapman will receive a personal loading as shown in Column 4 of Table 2A while he occupies the office shown in Column 1.   1.4             Clauses 1.2 and 1.3 take effect on and from 27 February 2006.         PART 2 – PART TIME OFFICES   2.1             In this part, Determination Number 5 of 2005 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.   2.2             Clauses 2.7 and 2.8 of Omnibus Determination 2005/18 are revoked in full, with effect on and from 15 December 2005.   2.3             Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by including the following entries at the end of the Table:

  2.4             Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by including the following footnotes: 42  Teaching Australia: While Professor Gregor Ramsey is Chair he will receive the Chair’s fee plus an additional loading of 70%.  The Chair is entitled to Tier 1 travel. The Deputy Chair will receive the Member’s fee plus an additional loading of 100%. 43       ASCC: The Deputy Chair will receive $27,810 per annum.   2.5             The entries in Clauses 2.3 and 2.4 relating to Teaching Australia take effect on and from 18 January 2006; the entries relating to other bodies take effect on and from 15 December 2005.   2.6             Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the following entries in Column 1 and all their associated entries:   ·         Business Advisory Panel, ·         Committee of Review of Migrant and Multicultural Programs and Services, ·         Committee Reviewing Temporary Entry of Business Personnel and Highly Skilled Specialists, ·         Asian Studies Council, and ·         Telstra Instalment Receipt Trustee Limited.   2.7             Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by omitting the current entry ‘102,760’ in Column 2 for the office of  ‘Chief Scientist’, and substituting the entry ‘154,140’.   2.8             Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by omitting the entries ‘47,820’ and ‘20,910’ in Columns 2 and 4 for ‘IRDB - Industry Research and Development Board’ , and substituting the entries ‘62,680’ and ‘26,480’.   2.9             Clause 2.8 takes effect on and from 18 October 2005.   2.10        Table C1A of Schedule C of the Principal Determination is amended by omitting the entry ‘43,730’ in Column 2 for ‘Grains Research and Development Corporation2’ and substituting the entry ‘49,980’.   2.11        Clause 2.10 takes effect on and from 1 July 2005.     2.12        For the period 9 March 2005 to 30 June 2005 the Chairperson, Grains Research and Development Corporation, will be paid an additional amount of $6,010 per annum.   2.13        Table C1A of Schedule C of the Principal Determination is amended by omitting the current wording of footnote 2 and substituting the following wording: 2 Grains Research and Development Corporation:  A member who serves on the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee will receive an additional $11,360 per annum for the Committee Chairman, and an additional $5,680 per annum for Committee Members.
