1              Name of Management Plan Amendment
                This Management Plan Amendment is the Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery Management Plan Amendment No. 2.
2              Commencement
                This Management Plan Amendment commences on the day after it is registered.
3              Amendment of Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery Management Plan 2005
                Schedule 1 amends the Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery Management Plan 2005.

ETBF Regulations means the Fisheries management (Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery Regulations 2009.
[2]           Section 20, definition of branchline clips

branchline clips is the number of branchline clips determined under section 20A.

SAF is:
(a)           the sub-area factor for the sub-area of the fishery where the operation took place, or, if the operation took place over more than 1 sub-area, the greater or greatest of the sub-area factors for those sub-areas; or
(b)           if AFMA has not specified a sub-area factor – 1.

20A         Number of branchline clips
(1)   For section 20, the number of branchline clips for a season is the number of branchline clips determined by AFMA, based on the average number of branchline clips used by all holders of longline SFRs during each pelagic longline operation in the fishery, or the part of the fishery, in a  period determined by AFMA, rounded down to the nearest 10 hooks.
       
         (2)   For subsection (1):
(a)    the average number of branchline clips will be based on information given to AFMA by fishing concession holders authorised to fish in the fishery; and
(b) the period determined by AFMA will be a period of 12 months, commencing not more than 2 years before the start of  the season and ending before the start of the season.
