Annual Appropriation Acts

I, Penelope Ying Yen Wong, Minister for Finance and Deregulation, make this Determination under the following provisions:
·                subsection 11(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2004-2005;
·                subsection 9(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2005-2006;
·                subsection 11(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2007-2008;
·                subsection 9(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2007-2008;
·                subsection 10(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2008-2009;
·                subsection 10(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2009-2010;
·                subsection 13(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2009-2010; and
·                subsection 10(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2009-2010.

Part 1              Preliminary

1              Name
                This Determination is the Determination to Reduce Appropriations Upon Request (No. 14 of 2010-2011).
2              Commencement
                This Determination commences on the day on which it is made.
3              Legislative Authority
(1)   Subsection 11(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2004-2005, subsection 11(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2007-2008 and subsection 13(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2009-2010 enables the Minister for Finance and Deregulation to make a determination in writing reducing an other departmental item for an agency by the amount specified in the Determination, upon receipt of a written request from the Minister responsible for that agency.
(2)   Subsection 9(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2005-2006, subsection 9(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2007-2008, subsection 10(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2008-2009, subsection 10(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2009-2010 and subsection 10(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2009-2010 enables the Minister for Finance and Deregulation to make a determination in writing reducing a departmental item for an agency by the amount specified in the Determination, upon receipt of a written request from the Minister responsible for that agency.
(3)   Appropriation reduction provisions are included in the annual Appropriation Acts to enable excess departmental appropriation items, administered assets and liabilities items, and other departmental items to be extinguished.
4              Purpose
                This Determination reduces the appropriation items for the agency listed in the Schedules by the amount indicated in Column 4 of each item.
5              Notes
The Schedules contain tables listing the affected agency in column 1, the Appropriation Acts and appropriation items in column 2, which through the request by the responsible Ministers in column 3, are reduced by the amounts in column 4.
6              Disallowance
                Determinations made under:
·         subsection 11(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2004-2005;
·         subsection 9(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2005-2006;
·         subsection 11(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2007-2008;
·         subsection 9(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2007-2008;
·         subsection 10(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2008-2009;
·         subsection 10(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2009-2010;
·         subsection 13(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2009-2010; and
·         subsection 10(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2009-2010.
                are legislative instruments and are disallowable.

                Schedule 1 reduces the other departmental item (Equity Injections) for the Department of Defence in Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2004-2005.
8              Reduction in Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2005-2006
                Schedule 2 reduces the departmental item for the Department of Defence in Appropriation Act (No. 3) 2005-2006.
9              Reduction in Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2007-2008
                Schedule 3 reduces the other departmental item (Previous Years’ Outputs) for the Department of Defence in Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2007-2008.
